Handmade Hair

Just a quickie before I go to bed. I got this cute hair from a new shop called Handmade.  The hair is sold as a single at L$80.  I like this as I tend only to wear one shade from a color pack so it is nice to be able just to buy the shade I want to wear.

There are two hairstyles currently in the shop and also a dollarbie style with all colors (which I did buy but have not yet tried)  There are also some clothes.  I will be popping back to see what else appears as time goes on.

Tulip

I popped to Tulip to look at the Project Themory item - which I didnt buy but I saw lots of reaaly cute stuff there and I did some shopping.

I got the cute little Zebra dress shown above and a few other things (prob will show in another post).  There was also these adorable shoes as a Group Gift (group free to join) so I clickied and yay they are mine :)

Just Hanging Around

I really like this jacket and it was only L$90 at Perfect Wardrobe There is a red one there too, I am considering buying it as well.  This is a mesh jacket and comes in 5 sizes with various alpha sizes.  Update 22nd - I went back to Perfect Wardrobe to get the red version of this jacket but both were gone!! Woman in Black

Last night I went out with my RL valentine to see "The Woman in Black". Although it is only rated a 12A it was super scary!!!! No blood, no horrific scenes: just good old fashioned "boo!" factor. So I don't have a SL valentine's tale to record but I don't care; I had a great RL night.

Big Night Out

I bought this daring but lovely evening dress from Maai on the marketplace at $L99 MESH-PROMO-Darla .  There are other patterns available in the shop and marketplace at $L 380. 

Having such a nice dress I needed a man to take me out on the town so I borrowed my cousin's SL boyfriend lol.  He brought along a couple of nice couples poses from Ooo Studio.

A Girly Night In

Finally my RL cousin and I got to spend some time together chatting on SL. She came round to my little house and I showed her the new TV by Lisp I got from Collaborate 88  . 

I love the TV but I don't get any sound from the preset films - not sure if that is just how it is or if it is my settings??? I haven't tried the "you tube" feature yet but maybe I will get sound with that.

Oh and the other thing that is weird, to get it to play one must deed to group but then once deeded it is impossible to alter the texture but still I love it :) I also wanted to show this nice little bench I got on a LB at   MMGraffiti

Red Hot

What a great day for gifts!!! Cold Logic sent out this red dress and Mynerva has reopened and has this gorgeous skin out as a group gift. The group is $L50 to join - click the join button don't hesitate :)

Pretty in Pink

When I was doing the Seasons Pallet Hunt I just couldnt find the item at Bliensen and Maitai but today when I went there to find the Hearts Ablaze Hunt item there I also found the SPH yay!!!!

Anyway I think both go well together so here they are - oh to find them go here Bliensen and MaiTai


The lovely skin is from Atomic - at the dressing room blue for another week.  The freckles are from Glamorize - I just love Glamorize lots of makeups and so cheap :)  Talking of make up the eyeshadow is from Mock - what a kind group to be in - Mock gives out loads of stuff and I got a bunch of makeup in a little hunt  - taxi -  Mock

Hair is from Elikatira - note I did photoshop some little strands onto it.

And just as an aside, looking at the photos I have put onto Flickr, the only one getting viewed is the one with my bottie on display to the world!!  Either I need to join some groups to promote my photos and my blog or I need to bare my bum more!!!!

Going Green

I paid a visit this morning to  Gravis Beach .  Not all the stalls were set out when I arrived but I picked up a few nice free/cheap items and bought a really pretty shirt.


 

This dress is from Pesca (at Gravis Beach stalls) - it was either free on $L1 - pretty, sweet and makes me think of the coming Spring :)

Also from Pesca (again at the stalls) I bought this Shirt - I think it is really cute and was $L100.

The skin worn in both the above pictures is from Mother Goose's stall at the Gravis Beach stalls - it is $L1 and adorable.

Then I popped to The Dressing Room It wasnt open and not much was out when I cammed in but I did see a nice teal dress to go with the free shoes I got from Roly-Poly at Gravis.  Funny thing is that in this designers mesh sizes I am a Large (oh it is by Glow Studio) but in Cold Logic I am an XS! Also this dress needs a bra as there is a bit of nipple peek without one.

So a good day so far :)

I bought these nice mesh jeans. Having never had any problems with mesh jeans fitting I just grabbed without trying the demo - oh silly little me! Here from the front they look quite good - a little low but ok. But (or should I say BUTT) from the back they are more than a little cheeky!!!!!

A Right Handful!!!

Ok so I bought some cute boots today from *Crazy*. I like them and they were only L$200 BUT BOTH boots are worn on right hand!!!???? This means to wear both I need to add one weird!!! Also need to add my nails bah :(

Getting into the swing of things

Into my second week in SL and things are going much better. I found a couple of really friendly places:

My Home In SL

Some pictures of my little skybox in SL :) Most of the stuffs arent mine (ty cuz) but I did buy a whole sh err sugar load of wallpapers from the marketplace for only L$9. There are over 400 textures in the box so I had fun turning the plain concrete walls into nice retro wallpapered walls. Week 2 Day 1 - Went on a hunt

On Being New in Secondlife

Running around for the first few days like a headless chicken doll!

What led me to Second Life:

For Christmas last year, I was given a gift of The Sims3 and the Pets expansion pack. At first I loved it! It was fun building a home and garden and dressing up my little Sim. In fact I was so into the game that I purchased other expansion packs so I could go on World Adventures and get a good job and promotions etc. However after a few weeks I found that the lack of any social interaction (except with computer generated sims) made the game a little tedious. A cousin of mine has played Second Life for a few years and suggested I should try it so I created an avatar.

My first impression

Confusing! I had little or no idea what to do as I was used to a game with goals set. I felt lost and alone (lol sounds pathetic). I decided that I had to make some goals for myself so I could have something to reach for.

My first goals

a) Get a place to call home. This for me was easy as my cousin has a lot of land in SL and she gave me a nice plot to call my own. She also put out a skybox and furniture for me. If I had just came to SL with no-one to help me with land I might have been tempted to go "premium" to get the Linden Home.

b) Get clothes, skin, shoes etc. This was surprisingly easy! I searched for second life related fashion blogs and found loads of blogs that listed free or cheap items and special events. I also looked on the marketplace and got loads of stuff.

What was harder was sorting it all out!! I learned an important lesson in my first few days - open boxes immediately, try on the items, delete if you dont think you would wear, make folders and put away in a tidy fashion if you want to keep.  After just 3 days I spent about 2 hours sorting stuff I had collected!!

c) Make some friends. Sadly this one I am finding hard :( My cousin is in a different time zone than I so we dont meet often on Second Life). So I have been rezzed for one week and so far only two people on my friends list and I havent met up with either one since the friendship was made although one of them has commuicated with offline messages, so hopefully we will be on at the same time again soon.

What's Next

I think now I have made some headway into my initial goals I will try to pursue some interests. I am interested in fashion, want to explore the places others have created and photograph them.
